Woo! It has been so long since my last post! Oops…but in my defense tons of things have happened in the past few months. Thanksgiving, Christmas, getting engaged, starting a new job and then keeping up with a ramped up training plan now that I work with a personal coach. Whew…. I’m tired just thinking of all those things now -_- .
Sitting at Starbucks right now after making my grocery list for the week I am just hoping I included enough snacks to get me through the work week. I know how much it affects my training when I don’t prepare my healthy foods; I start to depend on icky restaurant food that really hurts my training. Lately I have been keeping up with my eating and resting and I feel strong and prepared to take on Galveston 70.3! What really helps is having an amazing coach who is helping me get faster in all 3 sports; it rocks to have someone else tell me when to take it easy and when to go hard. Each workout has a real purpose and it works! Even though I trained almost 14 hours this week I feel great, and maybe part of that is the new job. I actually don’t dread going into work every morning now and I think that really helps me feel more energetic overall. But triathlon is about so much more than just putting in the miles, it really is a formula of sleep + stretching + eating + training (both easy days and hard days) = best race ever. Fingers crossed no injuries pop up in the next few weeks, I am chasing that sub 5:20 hour 70.3 and it is starting to feel like a possibility!
