Hours - 4:21 I had another light week training wise, which I took full advantage of. Next year is going to be so freaking busy; I will take any time off that I can get! Monday I had no training plan & Tuesday I was supposed to go to Barton Springs for an open water swim, but I mentally moved this to Thursday so I could go with a friend instead ;) Wednesday was a short run, just trying to ease back into it. There were no intervals or heart rates to follow. It was fun to just run whatever speed felt good! I could definitely feel the lack of training! As much as I love this fall weather, it is really horrible to run in complete darkness. Time to charge up the lights and wear that reflective gear! And if you love the Complete Cookies like I do then head over to my discounts page because I've got a few coupon codes for you! Thursday morning I did NOT want to get out of bed (that whole taking a week off thing really messed with my morning schedule!). But I had made plans to meet a new T3 member at Barton Springs, so I had no choice but to wake up and get going. It is always easier to go to Barton Springs when you make plans to meet someone, swimming in the dark alone doesn’t freak me out anymore, but without the motivation of a friend I do not have any desire to dive into that cold dark water alone! Of course once we go there it was gorgeous and completely worth the early alarm! I am just in awe of how beautiful the pool is when the sun rises. No picture or words can do it justice. Friday morning I had zero problems waking up early. Due to ACL and the location of my office I got to work from him and I love it, I always get a little extra pep in my step on days I get to stay home. Once again my workout was very easy and had no harder intervals. Which is great..and a little boring! I think I changed my pandora station about 3 times during this workout! Saturday’s long ride was my first hard workout since Trifecta; it was so gorgeous outside that I never even felt the pain! I had only an hour and a half planned, but since we rode the Austin 70.3 course it turned into close to 2 hours. There is no easy way to cut that course down! The weather was absolutely perfect and the company was even better. I almost wished we were riding the entire course, I didn’t want it to end! ...at least until I noticed my brakes had kind of..stopped working? My cables were frayed almost and the brake pads had stopped clamping all the way down onto my tire rim! Luckily, this was toward the end so I rode pretty conservatively hoping I wouldn’t need any hard stops. And no worries ;) I got those brake cables fixed right after the ride! Shout out to Tsunami Cycles for always taking such great care of my bike and for being so fast! They had it done in about half an hour! Due to ACL traffic and lack of parking available at Towne Lake Sunday morning I decided I would run down to the trail and just kind of explore new areas. My run was only 5 miles, but man was it hilly! I took Bluebonnet down to Barton Springs Rd and it was great on the way out! It is all one large hill, downhill on the way to Barton Springs Rd and uphill on the way home. I just kept telling myself it was good practice for Buffalo Springs 70.3 next year! I plan to dominate that run course! And a little food prep for the week…
I am so excited for fall veggies!! Yummmm!!
